This piece shows four self-portraits that depicts four states, from the standing position to crawl on the ground in submission. The main point is how to set it up, and especially how the viewer read the piece. Typically in Western culture we have been educated to read and interpret any code, written or visual in general from left to right, but there are many cultures that make it right to left. So surely as the viewer belongs to one culture or another may interpret the four states of "modern life" (saying this with some irony) as ranging from a decent position, standing, to walking on their knees and beg in sign of submission, or just the other way around.

Four pieces. Polyurethane, latex, fabrics, oil and hair. 130 cm height.
